What is true love?

It’s amazing that this is the verse the pops up for the day for Bible Gateway for today. It happens to be February 15 the day right after Valentine’s Day when everyone expresses their love to those who are important in their lives. This year was my first Valentine’s Day without my love. And just think just one year ago today, we were renewing our vows in our living room while watching the ceremony at church on the portal.

What's crazy is that Valentine’s Day wasn’t really our thing. I think more so because the petty side of me. After our first one at the age of 13, I told him I appreciate the gift but I want you to celebrate me every day of the year not just Valentine’s Day when everybody gets something. As a married couple he started to bringing home flowers on Friday night to celebrate the weekend.

What does true love look like? According to the Bible God loves us so much that he gave us only son to die for us that we might live. What does true love look like to you?

So true love can be expressed by a smile, a note, a word of encouragement, a hug, a gentle kiss, breakfast in bed, warming up your car, remembering to put the seat down. Remember to recognize those small things the people to and for you to express how they appreciate and love you. Remember to say thank you and be grateful.
